  • Protects organs and tissues – Proper hydration increase the health of skin and avoid premature wrinkles. It also prevent the risk of kidney stones and other organ problems. 
  • Regulates body temperature – Water is stored in the upper layer of skin comes at skin surface as sweat when the body temperature is high. As the sweat evaporates, it cools the body temperature. Some experts have suggested that, a body with low water, the heat storage increase and the person becomes less able to tolerate heat strain. Having good amount of water in body may reduce heat strain.
  • Maintains electrolyte (sodium) balance – Hydration maintains the pH balance of the body.
  • Helps in weight loss – Drinking plenty of water can boost your metabolism, hence helps in reducing weight. However, drinking water before or after 30 minutes of meal is considered as effective way.

Everyday a person should drink daily a minimum of 1 ounce of water. For some health conditions it is required to drink too much of water like-

  • Kidney
  • Liver 
  • Heart 

If you are on medications that retains water, such as- 

  • non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
  • Opiate pain medications 
  • Antidepressants 

Then you should take special care on drinking water.

  • Or working outdoor on a hot day
