Collecting beanie babies is a treasured pastime shared by many people. If you’re an avid collector, you’re likely looking for rare and valuable beanie babies to add to your collection. The problem is, there are so many models that it can be hard to spot rare beanie babies from common ones.

Not to fear, collectors, because we have you covered. In this article, we cover three of the rarest beanie babies and where to buy them. Keep reading to find the next addition to your beanie baby collection today!

Number 1: Brownie the Bear

Brownie the Bear can be worth between $4,000 and $20,000 today. This model is so valuable because it is one of the nine original Beanie Babies and was one of the first two models the public saw.

This model was retired soon after its release, meaning that there are few brownie bears in existence today. Brownie the Bear was later released as “Cubbie.” Cubbie is identical to Brownie but worth much less.

Number 2: Princess the Purple Bear

Princess the Purple Bear can go for up to between $1,000 and even $10,000 dollars. This model was released after Princess Diana’s death in 1997 to commemorate her life. Proceeds from the sale of Princess the Bear benefitted the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

We expect the value of this model to go up now that the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death has passed. Many consider versions of the Princess bear made with PVC pellets to be more valuable.

Number 3: Pinchers the Lobster

Pinchers the Lobster is among one of the most valuable Beanie Babies, worth up to $3,500. This lobster is one of the nine original Beanie Babies which were released in 1993 at New York City’s World Toy Fair. Along with Brownie the Bear, Pinchers was one of the two beanie babies first shown to the public, increasing the value of the models.

Pincher the Lobster was retired in 1998, meaning this model is no longer in production, increasing its rarity.

If your lobster beanie baby is named Punchers, it may be even more valuable. Punchers the Lobster is a rare misprint of the original model. It is identical in every way except the name on the tag compared to Pinchers but is nonetheless a special addition to any collection.
